Enter Fallout

At long last, Elftown shall suffer 21st century fate dreaded by all: FALLOUT! Finally, the acclaimed series (Fallouts I, II, and Tactics) comes to us here. With the rules provided by [Vesthrix], the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system used by Fallout will now be used here as we roleplay.

2005-02-01 [Jay Ladlehaus]: like that?

2005-02-02 [og_ghost]: Very much so.

2005-05-01 [Kayne]: Not much people here, ain't it?

2005-05-02 [Jay Ladlehaus]: this isn't the main page yet. Go to Fallout Fans. Until we get the actual roleplaying up and running this is going to be a bit deserted.

2005-05-02 [og_ghost]: And it will be a while before I get that program up, now that I have UWT almost actually running. Once I get it to the point that it can more or less handle itself, it'll get done in a jiffy. But that day ain't come, yet. lol

2005-05-03 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Until that time, I'm going to try and get a PnP thing going based upon the info Vesthrix provided. If your program is going off that it shouldn't be too hard to switch over once it is completed.

2005-05-04 [og_ghost]: True. And the only real difference will be ease of use. You could very well start now, and then when I get that program finished, the transition will be noticed by no one bu the GM, who will suddenly have a much easier time of things.

2005-05-04 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Sounds like a plan. I'm going to Michigan this weekend and will probably have nothing to do, especially on the plane flights, so I'll begin writing out the plot, main quest, and secondary quests. This will of course include the related characters and such. I'm not going to do the half mutants for the first one. I'm trying to maintain some semblence to what the Fallout series has produced so far, which doesn't include fertile mutants.

2005-08-15 [Vesthrix]: One word: great!

2005-08-15 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Yep, I'm almost done with all the secondary quests. Then I just need to build the roleplaying area for the first town (Northend), and then we can start setting up character creation for the first party.

2005-08-16 [og_ghost]: I'm looking forward to it.

2005-08-16 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Finished writing out the first two areas yesterday. Now I need to build them in here.

2005-08-16 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Okay, Northend (the first area) is finished (the second area is complete, but not wikified yet as it's not a real high priority for getting this started). All the secondary quests are finished, except for the main bad guys area (which is really far down the road). I've set up additional wikis as well for a lot of the details. Those will get filled in later this week and weekend, time permitting. The two biggest challenges right now is figuring out how to let people create their characters and basic game interaction. Once all this falls into place, we can start roleplaying.

2005-08-17 [og_ghost]: hm.... those sound like two very important things to have done, though.

2005-08-17 [Jay Ladlehaus]: They are very important. What I'm creating right now is the skeleton. Those two items are the flesh and blood.

2005-08-18 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Hello, watchers. Please go to Fallout Polls and give me some input on the banners. Thanks!

2005-08-18 [Stephen]: (Realm of Role Play is an idea for a website that is based off Role Playing. The site will be much like Elftown, as it will be made by the Mayor and Programmer of Elftown, [Hedda]. If you like the idea of a site made for people who like to role-play, made by people who love to role-play, then go to RPG Realm!)

2005-08-19 [Jay Ladlehaus]:

FALLOUT ROLEPLAYING HAS FINALLY BEGUN. GO TO FALLOUT CHARACTERS, SUBMIT YOUR CHARACTER TO ME, THEN PREPARE TO ENTER FALLOUT!

2005-09-06 [og_ghost]: Yeah, my program is not coming along very well. It's just as well that it's no longer being considered part of this. Once we start going, tell me what specifically will help you GM this, blue, and I'll program something to help with that. But taking care of everything just turned out to be a bit much for me.

2005-09-06 [Jay Ladlehaus]: All right. When I get more information filled in on the spreadsheets I'll send them to you for review (the updated spreadsheets, that is to say).

2006-03-14 [iippo]: This wiki is linked from RPG Realm, which is an exported page. Would you please export this page (or ask me to do it for you if you don't know how) so out-of-ElfTown people will also be able to view this page. If you don't wish your page exported, let me know. Thank you.

2006-03-14 [Jay Ladlehaus]: exported

2006-05-05 [KimoN]: Im playing fallout 2 at the moment, are there any other games?

2006-05-05 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Yes, there's Fallout I (PC), Fallout Tactics (PC), and Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel (X-Box). There's also Wasteland, which is sort of a prequel, but you'd need a really old computer, or an emulator in order to play that, assuming you can get ahold of copy.

2006-05-06 [KimoN]: nice one! so is Brother hood of steel the most recent release? any possibility of getting this on PC?

2006-05-06 [KimoN]: ive only played fallout 2, which would you recommend?

2006-05-06 [Jay Ladlehaus]: Well, definitely play Fallout 1. If you want to play a Fallout that focuses more on combat tactics instead of roleplaying, play FOT. If you liked Baldur's Gate, play Brotherhood of Steel.

2006-05-14 [og_ghost]: I apologize for my absence. I have ... sort of... returned. But I'm still only on sporadically. I cannot garauntee that I will be very useful at all.

2006-05-14 [Jay Ladlehaus]: If you want to really make yourself useful, you could solve our automatic weapon fire dilemna.

2006-05-14 [og_ghost]: Which was?

2006-05-14 [Jay Ladlehaus]: How to accurately tabulate fire distribution and damage.

2007-06-08 [Triv]: Well, damn.
Here I was thinking I was the only guy trying to get a Fallout based Rp going... heh.. Guess not..

2007-06-08 [KimoN]: if u like fallout i highly recommend S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (rpgish fps)

2007-06-08 [Triv]: I've been looking into a few things like that...
I actually started an Rp on here based on something I found on No Mutants Allowed... I think I may have finally gotten someone to test the damned thing out with me, so... yeah...

Who knows, right?

2007-06-12 [og_ghost]: Stalker is pretty great, and takes a few elements from Fallout.

2007-07-28 [Jay Ladlehaus]: The cover article of Gameinformer (July Issue) is about Fallout III. The game has been produced by Bethesda and will be coming out of XBox 360 and PC. It appears to take place between Fallout I and Fallout II. Bethesda says Oblivion fans should not expect something like Oblivion, while Fallout Fans should see lots of familiar material and be pleasantly suprised.

2007-07-29 [KimoN]: there is stuff about the new game on wikipedia go check it out!

2007-07-31 [Triv]: I'm rather dis-illused with what I've seen for Fallout 3... call me bitter, I suppose.

2007-08-01 [KimoN]: well, a sequel the identical to its predisessor will be boring. they might add new cool bits to it..!

2007-08-05 [Triv]: Eh, what they've put in so far just doesn't seem... right..

The fact that Van Buren got cancelled due to Herve 'Jiggleprick' Caen, and Chuck 'Chucklehead' Cuevas' inability to market a decent title, and handle the company, kind of makes me sad...

I'd like to see more added to the setting... hell, I wouldn't mind Todd Howard's game, so long as it wasn't marketed as a sequel, which, it seems to be in -no- way..

I've been reading up on this -waay- too much..>_<
